St. Paul on the Lake Catholic School
Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan
Our students are the heart and soul of our school. Here are just a few who exemplify St. Paul School's mission to develop "lifelong learners and leaders."
Our St. Paul community has gone above and beyond to respond to this challenge. Check out this FB Post from the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce:
“I’ve always had a love for sewing but didn’t know it could be so meaningful. I wanted to give back to the nurses in our community who are putting their lives at risk to help others, and those who are most at risk of catching this virus. I was also getting very bored at home so this gave me something to fill the time.”
- Jackie Fradenburg, age 11, Fifth Grader at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic School.
Jackie made 10 masks that were given to an RN to distribute to at-risk cancer patients. She plans on making many more!
We are so incredibly touched by your compassion Jackie! Thank you!
Check out this fantastic article in the Grosse Pointe News about St. Paul’s Shark Tank program. These inventive seventh grade boys created a hair gel recipe. They boiled gelatin and cooked innovative styling products, scented with essential oils to provide a fresh scent for each season (e.g. lemongrass in spring, peppermint in winter, etc.) https://bit.ly/2Fvtst3
A St. Paul’s eighth grader was able to personally participate in the democratic process on Capitol Hill. The student has a degenerative neuromuscular disease called Friedreich’s Ataxia. He met with Senator Mitt Romney’s staff to advocate for the ataxia community and ask him to co-sponsor a bipartisan National Ataxia Awareness Day.
